Craig Staudenmaier Speaks to Municipal Planners about RTK

Managing Partner, Craig Staudenmaier, recently addressed the Lehigh Valley section of the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Planners Association (APA) on the state’s Right-to-Know (RTK) Law.  His presentation discussed public access to records dealing with planning issues including certain records of private businesses, which contract with municipalities.

The APA is a diverse network of planners, commissioners, public officials, educators, students, and engaged citizens who are applying the benefits of planning to cities, towns, and neighborhoods nationwide.  An independent, not-for-profit educational organization, APA provides leadership in the development of vital communities by advocating excellence in community planning, promoting education and citizen empowerment, in addition to providing the tools and support necessary to meet the challenges of growth and change.

The purpose of Craig’s seminar was to give today’s planner, municipal consultant or employee a thorough understanding of the municipal responsibilities and nuances of the state’s RTK Law and to improve direct contact and correspondence practices with municipal entities and clients. His presentation, geared towards planners, engineers, attorneys and municipal staff, discussed case law relevant to the interactions typical with municipal government.
