Judge Rules Media May Twitter During Trial

Nauman Smith Attorney Craig Staudenmaier successfully argued on behalf of the Harrisburg Patriot-News against a defense motion to block reporters and others from using Twitter to provide real time updates on the upcoming trial of former House Democratic Whip Mike Veon and three former aids.

“The court agreed with our arguments and simply ordered witnesses to avoid any and al media coverage including electronic media for 24 hours prior to their testimony.”  Staudenmaier commented.  “This ruling is the first of its kind in the central Pennsylvania area and is an important one for use of non-traditional media because it upholds public access to a trial regardless of the medium used.”
