Harrisburg attorney and right-to-know expert Craig Staudenmaier pointed out that the state’s new open-records law exempts records holding Social Security numbers from public inspection.
“I would not want to be the agency to release a document with a Social Security number on it,” Staudenmaier said. “My personal thought is that there is very little need, if any, for public access to people’s Social Security numbers.” Read more
