Senior Partner Spencer Nauman is the grandson of the association's founder

(Harrisburg, Pa.) - Spencer G. Nauman, Jr., senior partner of the Harrisburg law firm Nauman, Smith, Shissler and Hall, LLP, has announced that the firm will serve as the primary sponsor for the Art Association of Harrisburg's (AAH) 80th anniversary celebration. The celebration will occur at the AAH Annual Meeting on Thursday, May 25, 2006 with festivities from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Art Association Exhibition gallery at 21 North Front Street in Harrisburg.

Nauman, whose grandmother Gertrude Olmstead McCormick was a founder of AAH, says that the firm is honored to be associated with the organization.

"In the past 80 years, the Art Association of Harrisburg has highlighted the work of the region's most talented artists," he said. "It has helped educate and develop the talents of many others. We are proud to have opportunity to support the achievements of the Association."

AAH was founded in 1926 by Mrs. McCormick and a group of community leaders who wanted to create an organization to promote the visual arts through exhibitions and education. Since 1926, AAH has fulfilled this mission by bringing varied and excellent exhibitions to Harrisburg, and offering drawing, painting, sculpture and photography classes for children and adults.

Since 1985, AAH has maintained a sales gallery where members' artwork is offered for purchase to private individuals and to businesses. All the artwork in the Harrisburg Hilton was commissioned and purchased from AAH, and numerous area businesses have purchased their art from the AAH.
