(Harrisburg, Pa.) - Harrisburg Mayor Stephen R. Reed recently appointed J. Stephen Feinour, a partner in the Harrisburg-based law firm Nauman, Smith, Shissler and Hall, LLP, to serve as a legal advisor to the Harrisburg Urban Studio Construction Products Advisory Committee.

"Stephen's extensive legal background is well known in Central Pennsylvania. His expertise will be an invaluable asset to the Construction Product Committee," Robert Philbin, Urban Studio Task Force coordinator, said.

The Harrisburg Urban Studio is modeled after Auburn University's famous Rural Studio, a program that provides architectural students with a practical learning experience while enhancing the environment of disadvantaged communities. Mayor Reed initiated the Urban Studio in March 2004.

A variety of advisory committees provide support to the Urban Studio. The committees consist of professionals in the fields of architecture, engineering, construction management, construction products and community relations.

The construction products advisory committee will serve as an educational and mentoring resource to Urban Studio students as well as assisting in the process of obtaining proper building materials to use in future projects. Feinour, who is experienced in commercial and residential construction, real estate and land use/zoning law, will provide legal counsel to the committee.
